Job Description
Our client is a leading manufacturer of corrugated packaging products with a national presence. Due to further expansion they now require a new Business Development Manager to target new business opportunities predominantly in the Midlands area.
The Role
Reporting to the Sales Manager you will be responsible for targeting, profile & acquire new business in the Midlands region; selling a full range of conventional corrugated packaging solutions to a vast range of industry sectors.
* Implement the agreed sales strategy, as directed by the Sales Management team.
* Target and win profitable new business, in line with the agreed budgetary targets.
* Submit sales reporting in the set formats, to the agreed standards and within the set time periods.
* Adhere to all company procedures in respect of customer contracts and agreements pertaining to stock, price, origination and any other identified commercial aspects.
* Provide market analysis (including competitor activity and market trends) as required to support strategic business development.
* Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of the Midlands Region, its key users, and their relevant market sectors to identify and exploit profitable new business opportunities
* Project manage the introduction of new customers into the business ensuring their effective handover to the internal customer service teams
* Provide accurate short, medium and long term forecasts as necessary to support business planning activities.
The Person
It is desirable that candidates have experience of selling corrugated packaging solutions, however candidates who can demonstrate a good track record in winning new business in other industry sectors will be considered and supported with technical training on corrugated packaging if successful. It is essential that you have previous field sales experience and have been successful in targeting and winning new business. We are keen to hear from people who are familiar with; and understand the various sales processes involved in finding and winning new business, which may have been gained from various types of formal sales training courses or having completed a qualification in this field. You are confident, tenacious, outgoing, have a positive attitude to managing customer expectations and winning new business, a team player whilst also being able to work on your own initiative. You must have excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills. The Package
You will receive a basic salary around ?35k - ?40k depending on experience and a bonus structure, company car, blackberry, laptop & 25 days holiday + stats.
